The Water is Ruining the Drywall. Stop the Bleeding Right Now.
Before you call anyone, shut off the water source. The pressure in the lines is causing the damage. Stopping the flow buys you time to think and minimizes the repair bill.
- Find the Main Valve: It is usually near your water heater, in the garage, or out by the street in the meter box.
- Turn it Off: Turn the valve clockwise (to the right) until it stops completely. If it's a lever-style valve, turn it so it is perpendicular to the pipe.
- Open the Lowest Faucet: Go to the lowest sink or tub in your house and turn the cold water on. This drains the remaining pressure out of the lines instead of into your wall.
- Call a Plumber: With the water off, the immediate crisis is paused. Now you need the pipe fixed.

What Requires an Emergency Dispatch (Right Now):
- A burst water line inside the walls or ceiling.
- A sewer main backup pushing raw sewage into your bathtubs or showers.
- A water heater tank that has completely ruptured (not just dripping).
- An active gas leak. (If you smell gas, leave the house immediately and call the gas company first).
What Can Wait Until Morning (Save Your Money):
- A clogged sink or slow-draining shower.
- A toilet that won't flush (if you have another working bathroom).
- A dripping faucet or a running toilet flapper.
- A water heater that has simply stopped producing hot water but isn't leaking.

How much does an emergency visit cost?
More than a standard visit. We charge an after-hours overtime rate for the dispatch and the labor. We will state this rate clearly on the phone before we send a truck. No surprises when we knock on your door.
Do you clean up the water damage?
We are plumbers. We stop the leak and repair the pipe. We do not extract standing water, tear out wet drywall, or do mold remediation. Once we stop the water, we highly recommend calling a certified restoration company to handle the dry-out process so your home doesn't grow mold.
Will you just try to sell me a new water heater?
No. If the tank itself is ruptured and leaking from the seams, the unit is dead and must be replaced. But if it's leaking from a top connection, a supply line, or the T&P (Temperature & Pressure) relief valve, we can usually repair those parts for a fraction of the cost of a new unit.
